How is science contributing to the future of food production and energy security? See how science issues can be solved through agriculture. You’ll also take part in inquiry-based, hands-on science labs with an engineering design focus covering these topics:
Biotechnology
Soil science
Water quality
Energy production
Sustainable agricultural practices
These lessons address Ohio Science Standards in middle school and high school.
Take home free supplies for your classroom. Meet industry experts and tour a seed research facility and an ethanol plant. The first day will conclude with an industry dinner where you’ll meet and talk with local farmers and industry experts and experience technology demonstrations.
Shared hotel and meals provided by Ohio Corn & Wheat. Each teacher will choose free classroom lab supplies worth over $250. 1.8 CEUs will be awarded for this 2-day workshop, and 1 hour of graduate credit is available from Ashland University for $180.
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is geared toward middle and high school teachers. The content covered is above the level of elementary grades science.
